about
Isaiah 61 says that God sent Jesus "to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." Through the rawness of my struggles with an eating disorder and anxiety, I have learned that Jesus is ultimately the one who brings true freedom and peace, meeting our deepest questions and needs. Not only can He redeem the worst situations, but He also invites us to find our joy in surrendering to Him.
Thank You, Lord, for setting me free
For giving me lungs and teaching me to breathe
Your love is stronger than any despair
You bind up the broken and dwell with us there
You have my heart
May my will line up under Yours
You have my trust
I believe, help my unbelief
I am Yours
I surrender, I surrender
Truer than anything I know
You are God and You’re faithful forever
Thank You for the work You started in me
You turn all things for my good until Your plan is complete
You’ve called me to Your table, how could I decline
When the King of eternity has got His eyes on mine?
Oh it’s You that brings beauty from ashes
Oh it’s You that brings joy from my sadness
Oh it’s You that brings light in my darkness
Oh to You I sing, You make me sing
